Sydney Opera House on New Year's Eve (2005/12/31)

Image
This is the Sydney Opera House on New Year's Eve of 2005. Have you seen the most crowded Sydney Opera House like that? They were waiting for the Sydney New Year's Fireworks. I was there with Megumi, Monica, Kaori, Eliana and so on. We've arrived around noon and stayed. It's not easy to stay there because it's very hot summer! Terrible! Haha. ref. Sydney Opera House

Christmas tree in Darling Harbour (2005/12/25)

Image
There was a good and big Christmas tree in Darling Harbour in Christmas season. I've enjoyed it with Megumi on my birthday, Christmas day.

Town Hall as a Christmas tree (2005/12/20)

Image
The Town Hall of Sydney is changed to a Christmas tree in Christmas season. It's by lighting effect. They light the Christmas design from the building across the street. That's a good idea.

Wild flowers on the Gap Park (2005/12/19)

Image
How pretty flowers they are! The size of the one above is similar to a finger nail.

Scenery of Sydney from the Gap Park (2005/12/19)

This is the scenery of Sydney from the Gap Park. We can see the Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Tower in the picture.

Australian unique animals in the Taronga Zoo (2005/12/04)

Image
The Taronga Zoo was good to see Australian unique animals as well. From the top, a sleeping wombat, something going to drink water, two sleeping koalas and so on. Have a look of the right koala. Is that a koala? Same posture as a human. ref. Taronga and Western Plains Zoos

Animals in the Taronga Zoo, Sydney (2005/12/04)

Image
The Taronga Zoo was good to see many kinds of animals with nice and natural facilities. From the top of the left, a giraffe, 3 monkeys, a thinking gorilla. Suddenly I remember the famous club, Three Monkeys located near the Hungry Jack, the Star Bar and the Hoyts in downtown of Sydney. ref. Taronga and Western Plains Zoos

Coming back to Sydney (2005/11/25)

Image
I've planned to travel from Sydney to Ayers Rock through Melbourne, the Soverign Hill, Phillip Island, the Great Ocean Road, the Grampians NP, Adelaide, the Uluru for 2 weeks but I stopped it in Adelaide because my friend was not suitable to travel with me unfortunately. When we arrived in Adelaide, I suggested to travel separately and we decided that she keep traveling and I go back to Sydney. I wanted to keep traveling but compromised for her and I came back to Sydney with pleasure to see Megumi. As a result, I could've traveled out of Sydney for 10 days. Those of pictures were taken on the way to come back to Sydney. So beautiful, isn't it?

The Haigh's Chocolates (2005/11/24)

Image
Do you know the Haigh's Chocolates? It's a famous chocolate company in Australia. They've been manufacturing chocolates since 1915. This is the head office, located in downtown of Adelaide. ref. Haigh's Chocolates

The Power of Nature (2005/11/24)

Image
That is the power of nature. Although the tree was cut for any reason, it's survived and been still growing up well. That's great. This is in the Belair National Park. It was bigger than I thought and not so well-managed national park but we can find wild kangaroos sometimes. It was interesting. ref. Belair National Park

Adelaide Railway Station (2005/11/24)

Image
This is the Adelaide Railway Station. I've been to the Belair National Park by train from here. The transportation system of Adelaide is quite efficient and organized. The "Metroguide" is the best transportation-guide-book among what I've seen before. We can go anywhere with it by bus, train and tram.

The Glenelg Beach, Adelaide (2005/11/24)

Image
This is one of beaches of Adelaide, the Glenelg Beach. I forgot how long it takes but it's easy to access there from Adelaide. The first picture is the unique tram operated between the Victoria Square and Glenelg in Adelaide. Mebourne is a kind of "Tram's City" in my opinion but not Adelaide. This tram is very old style not only the feature but also how to operate such as inspecting the ticket. This tram was interesting but the beach was just so-so.

A couple of swans on the Torrens River (2005/11/23)

Image
Are they swans? I'm not sure but maybe right. They used to follow me to get some of food when I approach along the river. The Torrens River was really good.

Sunset of the Torrens River (2005/11/23)

This is the Torrens River, Adelaide. Isn't it beautiful and peaceful?

Some of wall paintings in downtown of Adelaide. Looking beautiful and interesting.

The St. Francis Xavier Cathedral (2005/11/23)

Image
This is the St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, located near the Victoria Square. That's not a parking lot in the picture. They were waiting for the signal. No traffic jam, not crowded. Impossible in Seoul. I wanna live there. ref. Catholic Archdiocese of Adelaide

The General Post Office of Adelaide (2005/11/23)

Image
This is the General Post Office of Adelaide, located near the Victoria Square.

North and south of the Victoria Square (2005/11/23)

Image
Adelaide is a planned city like NY, Canberra, Changwon, Gwacheon and so on. This city is very organized, clean, calm and peaceful although it's the biggest city and the capital of South Australia. It could be boring but I prefer Adelaide to any other cities. This picture was taken on the Victoria Square.

The Adelaide Botanic Garden (2005/11/23)

Image
Finally we arrived in Adelaide through the Great Ocean Road and the Grampians NP. These pictures are some of parts of the Adelaide Botanic Garden. It was looking smaller than the Royal Botanic Garden, Sydney but so beautiful and peaceful. I really loved it especially because I'd just finished the tour at that time. ref. Botanic Gardens - Adelaide

The Grampians NP (2005/11/21)

Image
The itinerary of our tour was from Mebourne to Adelaide through the Great Ocean Road and the Grampians National Park for 3 days. On the second day, we visited the Grampians National Park. It consists of some of volcano mountains. That's why the scenery is very special. Those are not man-made but nature-made. ref. Parks Victoria: Grampians National Park page

Some of parts on the Great Ocean Road (2005/11/20)

Image
The one on the top of the right has been named the London Bridge. The shape and how to be made are interesting.
